The
Somersworth Police Mini Station is accessable to all Albert
J. Nadeau Homes residents and serves as a deterant to crime and a
place to give the community direct access to the Somersworth Police
Department.
Sgt.
David Pratt is the Somersworth Housing Officer.
All Somersworth Police Officers have
access and are encouraged to use the Mini Station and visit the
Youth Safe Haven.
The
Mini Station also serves to involve the community in a neighborhood
coalition to collect information and prevent crime in their own
neighborhood.
Also
acts as a hub for the court diversion program [Chances] providing
community service to youth instead of traditional judicial penalties.
All communtiy service is overseen by the Somersworth Housing Officer
Sgt. David Pratt.

He joined the Somersworth PD on
November 17, 1980 and started at the Housing Authority in June of
2000 through a COPS Grant.
When the Somersworth Youth Safe Haven/ Police Mini Station, founded
by the Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation, began in November of 2000,
Sgt. Pratt was integrated into the program.
His responsibilities include:
Mobile and foot patrol of all Housing Authority properties
Work with Safe Haven staff in support of program (Mentoring
youth).
Provide safety classes to youth: Bike, Helmet, "Operation
Life Saver" Train Safety, Drug Prevention Awareness.
Working hands on with elderly residents of the Housing Authority
Filing all reports and follow-ups
Parking Enforcement
Hates Crime Officer for city of Somersworth.
Recommends one (1) youth per year to attend the NH Police Cadet
Training Academy.
